Cousins! The beloved popular series ‘BMF’ is coming in hot for the new year as fans around the world buckle their seatbelts for an all new season!
The Detroit based series ‘BMF’ executively produced by Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson portrays the life and times of the legendary Black Mafia Family. The story also provides an in-depth prospective for viewers upon entrepreneurship, family dynamics, love and power tied into reality what of the American dream appears to be through the eyes of the infamous Flenory brothers.
We had the chance to ‘Kick it One on One’ with multitalented actress Michole Briana White who is also one of the four main leads, starring as Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory mother Lucille.
In playing the role of the Matriarch, Michole speaks on the family dynamic on camera and beyond the lens.
“There was something so familiar about her and upon meeting Lucille It was like I knew her from another lifetime. I always feel as if the whole experience from this particular role has been so divine. Everything has been in divine order from beginning to now.”
Michole explains that the circumstances the Flenory household experienced doesn’t make them any less human in comparison to circulated societal norms and that this isn’t a story of a broken home but a broken neighborhood.
“ This was the opportunity that was presented to them to make money. I always say They didn’t come from a broken home they came from a broken neighborhood and so the opportunity outside were very limited for them. This was a fast way to make some cash and take care of their family, says Michole. “It’s hard not to take the money but we’re trying to teach them the right things and we’ll see what all unfolds.”
With over three decades in the entertainment business Michole speaks on the personal decisions she makes when selecting a role and what draws her to certain characters based on the impact of storytelling.
“The first thing that usually draws me is the material. The writing was so wonderful and I immediately connected to the character of Lucille. The more I learned about her the more interested I became,” said Michole.
“ I didn’t really know the story of BMF actually from the beginning and I learned so much,” she revealed. “There was really an instant connection with this role the first time I read the script and that’s always key for me.”
As for the upcoming season Michole says, “ we turn up the volume in season two for sure. The boys go through all kinds of craziness.”
“Lucille goes through a major journey also. I always said in season one ‘she is the quiet storm who leads from behind,’ she’s been supportive of everyone and really very giving.”
She continues, “ This season she’s learning to give to her self.”
