Mary J. Blige Inks Major Deal With BET For New Scripted And Non-Scripted Projects; Talk Show Like Project On The Way Titled, “The Wine Down”

Cousins! Congratulations are in order for music icon Mary J. Blige as she is switching gears into an all new lane in her career recently signing a multi-purpose contract deal with BET!

In partnership with her company Blue Butterfly, Mary has inked a deal with BET where they will have first look at non-scripted projects and a second look at scripted projects.

The very first project that is currently in production has been described as a talk-show like opportunity where Mary will kick it with some of her celebrity friends to have organic conversations about different topics surrounding everyday life. According to Bet News, guests such as actress and good friend to Mary, Taraji P. Henson and City Girl member Yung Miami have been name dropped.

“BET has been one of my biggest supporters throughout my career,” said Mary in a forwarded statment. “Being able to now create together, for them to be so supportive of my vision for the type of content I will create, is something I am grateful and excited for. We already have multiple projects in the works and there is much more to come.”

Mary is said to have established Blue Butterfly Productions company as a developed film, television and digital content company. It has been stated that within the new partnership with BET, Blue Butterfly will be provided a first-look scripted television deal with Lionsgate Television.
