Cousins! Actor and ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ leading guy Michael Rainey Jr. definitely shook things up on social media this week after directly calling out the folks of Starz in a post where he addressed them as being “Disrespectful”

It has been nearly 9 months since season two of the beloved series wrapped up without a single mention of a premiere date for season 3.

Originally debuting on September 6th, 2020 ‘Ghost’ has developed a trend of releasing new episodes around sometime mid fall. Fans have began to notice that no promo or teasers have dropped on social media or by the Starz network and have began to ask questions.

Within Michael’s now deleted post on Instagram he asked fans, “ How would y’all feel if Ghost book II was to never come back on air?” Fans took to his comments in outrage sharing how upset they would be if the series were to be canceled, also noting that they would end their Starz subscriptions immediately.

But it didn’t end there Michael also took to his Instagram stories with additional posts that read: “HUMBLE ASF BUT I’D BE LYING IF I SAID I DIDN’T BELIEVE THAT @ghoststarz IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST REASONS STARZ IS EVEN A THING…”

He continued in sharing another post that read, “ N DON’T GET ME WRONG “POWER” OMARI HARDWICK AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT WERE INVOLVED IN POWER ARE THE REASON STARZ IS A THING 100%..BUT WHO CARRIED ON THEY LEFT TO US?”

Michael wrote “CAN’T RESPECT A NETWORK OR ANYONE AT A NETWORK THAT’S TURNS A BLIND EYE TO THEIR TOP EARNERS. I CAN’T RESPECT STUPIDITY”

Fellow cast mate Gianni Paolo wrote in Michael’s comment section, “ 😂😂😂😂 now Michael” . The New York native responded with a shoulder shrug emoji, “ 🤷🏿‍♂️ 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️”

Michael took to the comment section addressing fans concerns in saying,” Now look y’all MIGHT get season 3 but after that?….. shiiiid idk”

Michael didn’t directly detail what the issue was between the STARZ network and their failure to release new episodes. However it is definitely no secret that executive producer to the ‘Power’ franchise, Curtis ‘50 cent’ Jackson has had his fair share of back and fourths with them as well.

According to reports from Deadline 50 decided to not renew his contract with the network back in September after nearly 7 years of working together.

Following news of 50’s separations fans naturally wondered where would that leave the future of his string of popular developed series such as Power Book II : Ghost , Power Book III: Raising Kanan , Power Book IV : Force and BMF.

50 proceeded on sharing that there were no hard feelings on his end and that he is grateful for the success they’ve been able to create together. He says that he has many new shows on the way and that he’ll let fans know where he’s going shortly. However that was two months ago and no one has heard a single mention yet.

Cousins, let’s keep our fingers crossed that things will pull together in recognition for the fans. We’d truly hate to see the lights shut off on the Power Universe 😢
