Things got a little sticky in court today for Tyrese as he attempted to chime in while a lawyer was breaking down his 2018 finances! A judge was extremely stern as he threatened to hold the singer in contempt if he repeated the act again.
According to reports from TMZ, following today’s court appearance Tyrese is officially a single man. Despite his wishes of not providing spousal support to his estranged wife Samantha Lee Gibson being granted, he has now been ordered to cough up $10,690 in monthly child support for their daughter Soraya.
It has been stated that Tyrese was left stunned by the official ruling seeing how he already pays the exact same amount for his other daughter Shayla from a previous marriage.
“This is not a punishment for you. Put that money where it belongs, in the child,” said the judge in attempt to help Tyrese look at the ruling from a different angle.
But it doesn’t end there the Judge pointed out that the child support payments date back to the official date Samantha filed for divorce which has been confirmed as sometime in September of 2020. Making the total owed $209K.
However, Tyrese is said to have gotten a credit, after pinpointing he had been making Samantha’s car payments for 2 years. The total has now been knocked to $169k.
