A Baltimore county daycare owner is currently in custody after shooting her husband, having a standoff with local authorities and threatening to shoot her self within a murder-suicide!

According to Fox 5 News the incident took place at Mandarin Oriental Hotel located in D.C. on Thursday around 7:40 PM on the 8th floor. Lil Kidz Kastle Daycare owner Shanteari Weems shot her husband upon claims of him molesting children at her center.

Reports read that she barricaded herself within a room of the hotel as police were called. Once officials arrived Shanteari was asked to exit the room and surrender. It has been stated that she responded in saying she was going to shoot her self. She was later asked was anyone else in the room with her and had they been shot, Shanteari responded in saying, “ he’s a child molester,” referring to her husband.

A male is said to have shouted, “yes I’ve been shot in my head and leg”. Shanteari reportedly told him to shut up.

It has been stated that the responding Police eventually made their way into the room and immediately detained Shanteari. Inside they discovered two handguns; one within her purse and another inside an unlocked safe within the room.

Court documents read she revealed to officers she has been married to the victim for five years and that they live in Baltimore.

Shanteari also revealed that she owns a childcare center in Baltimore County and received multiple calls recently from multiple parents accusing her husband of molesting their children.

She allegedly communicated to police that she did not want to kill her husband, just hurt him. But that she want to kill herself.

Police also state that they had discovered a letter inside the hotel rroom, allegedly written by Shanteari. The letter reads that she was hoping to paralyze her husband and that she wants justice for the kids at her daycare.

Her husband is said to be recovering, while Shanteari has been charged with assault with intent to kill. She is currently being held without bond. Her next hearing is scheduled for this upcoming Monday.
