Seattle Seahawk’s former football player Duane Brown was arrested on gun charges over the weekend!
TMZ reporters say that he was handcuffed while at the Los Angeles International Airport. The left tackle-skilled athlete allegedly tried to sneak a gun through his luggage. This claim is backed by airport officials and the TSA, who found the unloaded gun during one of their safety rounds.
CBS Sports add that Brown is being booked on possessing a concealed firearm.
His agent Kennard McGuire released a statement, saying
“He is human, and this clearly was an accident. As a law-abiding citizen, Duane will continue exercising proper judgment and education on gun safety measures.”
Duane Brown, who’s now a free agent, spent ten years in the AFC South before being traded to the Seahawks in 2017. He got his start in the NFL when he was drafted by the Houston Texans. The football player ended up with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. This all transpired after he graduated from Virginia Tech. His strongest suit in the football league is being a three-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler.
Brown played four successful seasons with the Seahawks before departing for good. His passion for football was entirely shown during two seasons. Although Brown has knee issues, he still pushes through. In current news, he played as Trent William’s injury replacement at last season’s Pro Bowl.
Brown posted his $10,000 bond and was released from custody at 11:32 p.m. PT. He has a hearing at Los Angeles’ Superior Court on August 3rd. Some of his supporters commented on the matter via YouTube.
One user was suspicious of Brown’s sudden arrest. “Next CNN news headline….pro bowl Seahawks linemen wrongfully detained,” he penned. Another wrote “I just watched an audit the audit video the other day, and the same thing happened. A gun was found in the check bag guy said it was a mistake. The TSA let him go. The TSA gets to pick and choose who they have arrested for this.”
