A Miami Beach hotel employee was tragically killed recently after turning away a guest from entering the facilities nightclub!

The incident occurred early Friday morning at the Clevelander Hotel as Dion David Moore, 50 worked at the front desk. The identified guest Brandon Kortez Burris tried sneaking into the Hotel’s nightclub. That is until Moore got a hold of him. He was ordered by Burris to leave after seeing his attempts to enter the nightclub. But, that command didn’t seem to sit well.

According to the Daily Voic,  the  29-year-old took it upon himself to argue with Moore following his request. Burris then began to throw his fists at Moore yet didn’t land any blows successfully. In turn, Burris got frustrated and shot a gun at Morris 6 times. He fled the scene but was later found between 11th Street and Washington Avenue. He is currently facing a second-degree murder charge. Morris was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center and passed away later that day.

The Clevelander Hotel released a statement after the tragic incident.

“We are devastated about the tragedy that occurred in the lobby of the Clevelander Hotel at approximately midnight on [Friday morning]. One of our valued employees needlessly lost his life. We are fully cooperating with the Miami Beach Police Department as it conducts a thorough investigation and defers to them for further comment. Our top priority is the safety and wellness of all guests and employees at the Clevelander Hotel.”

This isn’t Burris’ first time getting in trouble with the law. Miami Herd states that he’s gotten nine traffic citations since 2017. One of the citations was for driving under the influence. In February 2020, he was arrested again on a DUI charge and property damage.

The shooting that transpired is still under investigation.

Our prayers remain with the victims family!
