Akron Officers Placed On PAID Administrative Leave Following Murder Of Jayland Walker; Said To Have Fired 90 Bulllets!

An absolutely devastating incident incident involving Akron, Ohio police officials and a Black man has resulted in a gruesome death sparking outrage across the city!

According to reports from CNN, the incident took place on Monday June 27th roughly around midnight. It has been stated by police that they attempted to pull over victim identified as Jayland Walker. The officers forward claims that he refused to pull over and resulted in an immediate car chase.

In a post from the Police Department on Facebook, officials state, ‘A chase ensued and police said shots were fired at officers from the vehicle during the pursuit.’


The statement continues in saying, “After chasing the vehicle “for several minutes,” . Officials state that Jayland slowed down and exited from the vehicle while it was still moving, which allegedly lead to officers to a “foot pursuit” that concluded in a parking lot.

“Actions by the suspect caused the officers to perceive he posed a deadly threat to them. In response to this threat, officers discharged their firearms, striking the suspect,” the police statement said.

Jayland is said to have died in result to multiple gunshot wounds to his face, abdomen and upper legs.

The fatal incident is currently under investigation as reports read over 90 bullets we’re released with an estimated 60 hitting Jayland’s body.


Results of the investigative worksheet reviewed by Akron Beacon Journal at the medical examiner’s office, states “indicated that Walker was observed laying on his back and was in handcuffs when a medical examiner investigator arrived at the shooting scene.”

Sources confirm that the officers involved identities haven’t been released as of yet, however they have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation by the Akron Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation,


Jayland’s mother and sister Pamela and Jada Walker, appeared in an emotional interview with 3News on Thursday with heavy hearts.

“Why? Why did this happen in such a manner, such a terrible, terrible way,” says Pamela.
