Lil Nas X Expresses Frustration Over BET Nominations Snub, Post Snippet of Diss Track, “F*** BET”

Lil Nas X, is not holding anything back after being snubbed by BET, and could you honestly blame him? 

The Grammy award winner is over the self proclaimed star power network after being snubbed from this year and last year BET Awards nominations. Lil Nas X not only expressed his frustrations on Twitter, but he even made a diss song. 

According to NPR, Lil Nas X expressed his frustration on Twitter in a now-deleted tweet saying thank you bet awards. an outstanding zero nominations again. black excellence!”


Also, the rapper adds that his sexuality is the reason for not receiving any nominations this year. On Twitter he wrote: 

“this not over no bet award this is about the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community, y’all can sit and pretend all u want but imma risk it all for us.”

If you thought the “Montero” musician was finished– think again. Before you know it, Lil Nas X posted a snippet of a diss track aiming at the television network with the caption “F*** BET! F*** BET!”

In 2021, Lil Nas X released his debut album, Montero, and produced hit singles “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby.”

Despite the snub, Lil Nas X has been recognized by  MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, American Music Awards, and People’s Choice Awards.

According to BET, there is no ill towards Lil Nas X. The television network claims they nominated him for the best new artist award in 2020. And they invited him to perform in the 2019 and 2021 shows.

Also, they gave a little insight into their voting process and how artists are nominated.

In a statement, the company says, “Unfortunately, this year, he was not nominated by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of nearly 500 entertainment professionals in the fields of music, television, film, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, influencers, and creative arts.”
