The Off-Season rap legend, J.Cole, has echoed his album’s title in the basketball league!

 According to Complex, he’s decided to take a hiatus from shooting hoops. Instead, the 37-year-old hitmaker will be going on tour. J.Cole played for the Scarborough Shooting Stars during their last four games. However, no one is sure when he’ll be pursuing basketball again. 

Mr. Cole World leaped into the basketball scene in May. He inked a deal with the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Shooting Stars. Eventually, Cole played in Guelph and Montreal. 

On Wednesday, the “a m a r i” emcee announced he wouldn’t continue his time with the Scarborough Shooting Stars. Contrary to scoring 99-81 against the Newfoundland Growlers, J.Cole still stands firm on his decision to wow hip-hop lovers across the globe. 

As per Complex, J.Cole said during an interview:

“I was telling the guys in there like, ‘I’m going for these shows, I’m not sure if I’ll be back. But just in case, I had to let them know how incredible this was. The players, the coaching staff, the organization, the league, it’s a crazy thing when you see it on paper when you see what’s actually happening, and they made me feel so welcome.”

Elsewhere in the discussion, he thanked his fans for supporting him through and through.

He continues, “I wanna say thank you to the fans, the people of, first of all, Canada, Toronto, and specifically Scarborough, because being in the city for now four weeks, however long it’s been, the amount of excitement that people show, and pride they show, they’re happy that I’m here. I appreciate that. They’re excited about basketball in Canada and specifically in Toronto. There’s so much pride in Toronto.”

More recently, the Dreamville honcho joked about his short-lived time on the Scarborough Shooting Stars. Amid a performance at the Governors Ball music festival, he said, according to HotNewHipHop:

“I been playing basketball and sh*t. I came tonight to see if I could still rap, you know what I mean?”
