Cousins!

After traveling to the Dominican Republic, a young mother and businesswoman passed away from getting two cosmetic surgeries!

Shacare Terry, an Indianapolis woman, left a loving family and friends behind– plus a daycare (Minnie Blessings In Paradise) when she traveled out of the country for a  Brazilian butt lift and tummy tuck procedure; reports Travel Noire.

Traveling with her friend Carlesha Williams, both women flew to the DR for the same surgeries. It has been stated that Carlesha experienced pain, but Shacare pain was said to be worse– she could not breathe on her own and sadly died a week after her procedure. 

Shacare twin’s sister Sharae was the first to realize something was wrong with her sister. After a post-surgery Facetime session with her, Sharae concluded something was off. Sharae tells Black Enterprise, “something wasn’t right. I knew it in my heart.”

According to Carlesha, she felt very similar. “I was moving around a lot more, and Shacare wasn’t really moving around. She wasn’t doing anything. She would lay in bed. I would try to get her to go downstairs and eat with me, and she just wasn’t responding well.”

Once Shacare had to undergo dialysis, Carlesha reached out to the family with news of her rapid deterioration. She claims Dr. Desena and his team at the Instituto Medico San Lucas in Santo Domingo sedated Shacare in response to excruciating pain and complications and the medical staff assured Carlesha that Shacare was resting and everything would be fine.

In a statement, Shacare’s death was confirmed on April 21.

“We can confirm the death of a U.S. citizen in the Dominican Republic. We are providing all appropriate assistance to the family. Out of respect to the family during this difficult time, we have no further comment.”

Reports read that this is not Shacare’s first time traveling to another country for a cosmetic procedure. Back in February, she went to Mexico for a gastric sleeve.

We are praying for her family and friends of Terry. Such an unfortunate situation.
