Reality TV star Nene Leakes is taking Bravo to court based on some serious claims!
Reportedly, the former reality television star is taking legal action not only against Bravo– but Andy Cohen, NBC Universal, True Entertainment and Truly Original for allegedly harboring a racist work environment reports The Jasmine Brand,
Sources confirm that Nene, 54 has issued claims that her castmate Kim Zolciak-Bierman regularly engaged in racist rhetoric without consequence while filming.
It has been stated that once Nene made the network aware of Kim’s actions, she was retaliated against. According to legal filings, the network allegedly used her tax debt against her to keep her quiet about the racism claims.
Reports suggest the situation occurred when the pair engaged in a verbal argument following a girl’s trip. Afterwards Nene alleges Kim’s daughter called her home “roach-infested,” which she feels “was a racially charged statement.” Sounds familiar? Because this was actually on the show for season 10 of the franchise.
Nene took to Instagram to write about her frustration.
“Kim & her daughter oops whole family are racists! What her daughter did at my home … was pure disgusting, racist, learned behavior etc.”
Allegedly, the network responded to Nene’s accusations by advising her that “publicly disparaging Kim was bad for business”.
But there is more: Reportedly, the network tried to use Nene $824,000 tax lien against her once everything settled. Nene reported the tax debt in 2016. But the network didn’t raise concerns until after the “racist allegations against Kim were made.”
In court documents, Leak’s legal team wrote:
“NBC, Bravo, and True used this issue as a justification for having concern about Mrs. Leakes’ professional future and then as a justification for silencing her during this time period. In contrast, other, non-Black housewives were allowed to do much worse without consequence or even threat of consequence.”
