Mary J. Blige has dedicated much of her career empowering women throughout the world with her singing and songwriting while encouraging them to not only love on themselves but others too!
In efforts of shining a light on the ladies and celebrating the power of building one another up, Mary is set to hold her inaugural Strength Of A Woman festival summit in Atlanta, Georgia.
The musical line up consists of all female acts, the perfect combination of legendary singers and fan favorites such as Chaka Khan, X-Scape, Ella Mai, City Girls, Queen Naja, Baby Tate, Sevyn Streeter, Rubi Rose, Le’andria Johnson, MK xyz, and Omerettà The Great. Comedian Ms. Pat has been the named the headliner for comedy night. Actress Taraji P. Henson is set to take lead on all workshops and panels.
“We really need to love on each other and uplift each other and enlighten each other and build each other up, says Mary to Insider. “And that’s what this festival is all about. It’s about uplifting and building and strengthening women.”
“Without us, what would there be? You know, there wouldn’t be no children, there would be no balance. We are necessary,” said Mary.
The award winning singer explains that she developed the idea for the festival alongside MJB Inc. vice president Nicole Jackson paired with marketing professional Ashaunna Ayar. “Women need each other right now, more than ever.”
