Cousins!

We had the opportunity and pleasure to have a 1-on-1 interview with actor Tyler D. Lambert about his upcoming show Jonathan’s World!

Being an alumni of New York Flim’s Academy (NYFA), Lambert says his experience attending there was very “blissful” and “incredible.” 

Since NYFA has a variety of programs in different locations, Lambert was a part of the program for acting and film set in New York City. He credits the academy for learning things outside of acting, including directing and producing. According to Lambert, he says NYFA was the place for him to “simply discover myself and know all the things I want to do.“

If anybody is curious or wants to attend NYFA or any film school, Lambert highly encourages it.

“I tell anybody who is an upcoming storyteller, content creator, or actor, that film school is great because you get that hands-on experience that you may not get with starting off with peers, so, it puts you into that circle of people where you gotta surround yourself with those like-minded individuals that will keep you motivated and driven to be able to reach that super-objective or where you want to go.“

Now, you don’t have to attend film school to become successful. But Lambert says, “it’s definitely a place to go, to get with like-minded people that will definitely get those creative juices flowing.”

Attending NYFA and having that type of experience paid off for the actor because now he’s in the leader position. Lambert is not just an actor: he is an independent filmmaker. Besides acting, he writes and produces his own work.

Through his production company, Vibez&Visionz, Inc., Lambert is taking the initiative to showcase his talent by not waiting for “casting agents to say he has talent.” According to Lambert, he says, “I’m going to take the opportunity and take control. And then from there on, build off of that.” Lambert believes investing in his production company creates “longevity” in his career as an actor because it takes more than just acting.

Inspired by tv shows from the ’90s, Jonathan’s World will give you the nostalgia from your childhood. Inspired by the legendary Eddie Murphy, Lambert pays homage to him and actor MartinLawrence, by playing a multitude of characters in Jonathan’s World.

Lambert says his creative process comes from a “whole world full of characters that’s fictional and that I live in– And I play all the characters in that world.” One of the characters, Jim Lube, is not only a personal favorite of ours but Lambert’s too. Being from West Virginia, Lambert says Jim Lube is “somebody that I done met before, so it was very easy for me to just really display on screen.”
