Oh No! Texas Teacher Resigns After Lighting Students Hand On Fire in Science Experiment!

A Texas teacher has officially resigned after a science experiment involving fire and hand sanitizer led to a student having 3rd-degree burns!

According to USA Today, the incident took place at Granbury middle school as a 37-year-old teacher placed hand sanitizer on a student’s hands and ultimately set them on fire.

The teacher was “conducting a science experiment last week when she put hand sanitizer on the hands of a 12-year-old student and lit them on fire,” reads a forwarded statement from the Granbury Police Department.

The experiment was conducted with other students throughout the day. But no one else was injured.

In a tweet, The Granbury Independent School District says the teacher resigned and no longer is an employee of the district.

The Granbury PD says the incident is under investigation and “will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review.”
