Singer, songwriter and pianist John Legend has made a shocking move within his career that none of us saw coming, as circulating reports confirm he’s officially sold all rights to his music!

According to Bloomberg, Legend sold the copyrights and the rights to receive royalties from the music he’s written from the very beginning of his career in 2004 through 2021.

It has been indicated that his sold catalogue was split evenly between DL Music IP. LP, San Francisco based affiliate KKR Credit Advisors ( US) LLC and BMG Rights Management (US) LLC. Each firm has secured an even 50% stake.

However no details of the overall financial terms of agreement have been made public at this time. We bet it was a pretty penny though. The deal is said to have taken place back in September of last year.

The Ordinary People, singer hasn’t made any comments in regards to the recent news.

Legend’s unexpected move usually takes place when an artist has come to terms with the end of their music career. in all honesty we didn’t see him closing his piano any time soon Or at least we weren’t hoping so!
