Toot! Toot! …🗣All aboard Cousins! Our girl Gabby Union left us gobsmacked with her reprisal role of the original influencer, the adorable, the unforgettable, Tootie!
The original character Tootie was exquisitely played by the top notch Diva herself, Kim Fields. Decades later, Union gifted us early with this mesmerizing spot on reenactment for the ‘Facts Of Life’ reboot, reports YAHOO.
Congratulation Gabrielle on your performance❣️❣️❣️ I grew up on this shows. Remembering how my BFF thought she was Tootie all day everyday even down to the ponytails & skates. Thanks Kim Fields for giving us such an awesome character in Tootie❣️❣️❣️

If you were there during the 80’s, then you know how impactful this series was, especially for Black girls. How rare, for Kim Fields to be able to show up as her absolutely beautiful self. With her natural, curvy physique on TV, that many little black girls all over the globe had in common with her. Fields validated black girls’ existence, during a time when there was next to no representation.
The reboot taped December 7, and Union shared on Instagram how moving the experience was, stating “Tonight I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to honor the QUEEN @kimfieldsofficial and her iconic role of Tootie on ‘Facts Of Life’.
As a Black girl growing up in the 1980s we had very few role models on TV and film, but we had Kim. Thank you for leading and showing us how amazing we actually are. Please show love and praise to the ICON KIM FIELDS.”
Did y’all notice the spot-on nuances in @itsgabrielleu’s Tootie? Not only did this good&grown woman play a teenager, she had Tootie’s walk and perfected a young Kim Fields’ braces-labored diction! #TheFactsOfLifelive pic.twitter.com/sjdAlxSFnL

Put it this way, before there were Jennifer Aniston haircut requests, there was the Tootie tsunami of bowl cut copycats from every little black girl and “they Mamas”. It goes down as one of the black community’s most legendary, viral hairstyles. That’s the “Tootie cut”, not the “bang box cut ” (for any would be secret fans who may try to rename it to claim it…no shade😏)
Union and the entirely new cast pulled off the recreation of a show from the 1980’s sitcom during its third season. “During the preparations for a box lunch charity auction, the girls are gazing over an Eastland/Bates “Slam Book”. In which those writing the comments are identified by numbers instead of names,” as was the summary noted on iMDb.
