NYC officials are back at the drawing board pursuing different ways to influence residents to get the COVID vaccination!

In the latest scheme of things the city is set to start issuing $100 incentives to New Yorkers to get vaccinated.

The news was announced by Mayor de Blasio on Wednesday in response to exceeding reports from the federal government to reinstate an indoor mask mandate.

The new cash program will begin on Friday at all NYC based vaccination sites for anyone who can show proof of residency or employment.

When you get your first dose, you will get a $100 incentive,” said de Blasio “It does not get better than that.”

According to the Daily News, the money will be forwarded by pre-paid debit cards either mailed to each participants home address or digital form.

It has been indicated that the newly launched incentive program was constructed based off current reports that more than 40% of NYC residents have not been vaccinated and also a rapidly rising spike of people testing positive for COVID.
