Cousins!
Your nostalgia prayers have officially been answered as the word on the streets is the BET network is bringing together some of the music industry’s most influential 90s and early 2000s girl groups to help form the next big female act!
“BET Presents The Encore,” will serve as a reality series featuring multiple former girl group members from the 90s through the 2000s era; including solo artist Nivea, reports AP News.
Sources have confirmed that the series will consist of a total of 10 episodes where the ladies will live together for 30 days.
The ladies will record an album within the studio, learn choreography and practice their vocals.
The cast is set to star Pamela Long of Bad Boy Records popular girl trio Total, sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead from the recording group 702, Shamari DeVoe of Blaque; Aubrey O’Day of Bad Boy Records and MTV original series Making The Band 3 formed group Danity Kane, Kiely Williams from 3LW and Fallon King of Cherish.
“I felt that girl groups never got its just do … and I, as a content creator, wanted to … educate the masses on who I feel are the forgotten sisters of music. I wanted to pay homage to that industry and really give these women an opportunity to share their stories and their struggles” says the series executive producer Carlos King.
