New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has come forward to speak upon the numerous sexual harassment claims issued by multiple women against him; vowing that he feels awful but will not resign!
In a news press conference at the Capitol in Albany on Wednesday afternoon Cuomo addressed the allegations set fourth him and the public outrage paired with backlash he’s received from the public urging him to resign, reports the New York Post.
“I wasn’t elected by politicians, I was elected by the people of the state of New York. I’m not going to resign,” he states.
“I work for the people of the state of New York. They elected me and I’m going to serve the people of the state of New York.”
Andrew continues by saying, “I never touched anyone inappropriately.”
Sources have confirmed that he also vowed to adhere to an independent investigation conducted by state attorney Letita James.
“I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable. It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it,” says Andrew.
“I feel awful about it and frankly I am embarrassed by it and that’s not easy to say – but that’s the truth.”
Cuomo is currently being accused by multiple aides and White House officials of inappropriate questioning, grabbing, kissing and sexual harassment.
