911 Calls To Be Responded To By Mental Health Experts In NY To Help End Deadly Altercations!

The city of New York is currently in the works of making some impactful and necessary changes within the proposal of mental health experts now responding to 911 calls in efforts of ending deadly altercations!

The major change will take place in specific communities in New York City reports People under a pilot program.

Sources have confirmed that Mayor De Bill de Blasio announced the news of the program on Monday November 9th. It has been indicated that Emergency Medical Service health professionals and mental health crisis workers will take 911 calls deriving directly from two communities that are in dyer need of assistance.

Reports read that the two specified locations haven’t been named as of yet. The proposed program is set for debut February 2021 equipped with trainee professionals who have exercised the ability to de-escalate emergency situations.

The incidents will range from suicide attempts, substance abuse issues and in-depth mental health complications.
Further reports show that for nearly 10 years NYPD and fire department EMT officials usually respond to almost all of mental health 911 calls.

With approximately 16 people dealing with mental health issues dying at the hands of NYPD officials within a four year scope a change is definitely needed.
