#WordOnTheStreet : 90’s Series The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air In Talks Of Official Reboot!

The streets are buzzing high right now as numerous outlets are currently reporting that the hit 90’s series Fresh Prince of Bel Air is set to make an official comeback!

According to the Hollywood Reporter; the show’s original rising star #WillSmith alongside digital creator Morgan Cooper have partnered up to restructure the former NBC comedy. Sources have confirmed that the show’s reboot has been in works for a little over a year, following a four minute viral clip created by Cooper in 2019.

As we all know The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air reigned for six seasons as a comedy that effortlessly tackled everyday issues within family dynamics, race, teenage experiences, adulthood and socieconomics from the view of a West Philly kid to the suburbs. However, Bel Air executively produced by Will and Cooper is promised to be the complete opposite as it has been identified as a drama series.

Bel Air is set to depict an hourlong drama deriving from the original Fresh Prince sitcom. The series will provide an intimate look into Will’s journey from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, California while facing everyday issues as Black man in society.

It has been indicated that the show is currently being shopped around to major streaming platforms within co-production of the Smith’s family media company of Westbrook Studios and the show’s original producers over at Universal TV. As of right now reports read that Peacock, Netflix and HBO Max are within a bidding war to see who will land the upcoming series.

It has been stated that the original producers of Quincy Jones, Benny Medina alongside creators Andy & Susan Borowitz will also make an official return to the rebooted series.
