A beloved Kentucky restaurant owner has recently been pronounced dead after being killed by Louisville police officials during a protest!

Barbecue restaurant owner David McAtee was well known within his community forwarding and donating free food especially to local officers reports The Business Insider.

Sources have confirmed that McAtee was murdered within the peak early hours of Monday. It has been indicated that police officials had opened fire after being shot at by an unidentified party and McAtee was killed within the crossfire.

Reports read that following the shooting, McAtee’s body remained in the street for a total of 12 hours.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshar has stated that an investigation of body cam footage should be released Monday night. However it has been confirmed that the officers cameras weren’t on at the time of the incident.

Updated reports confirm that Chief of police Steve Conrad has officially been fired and that disciplinary action towards the officers involved are currently pending.
