A young pregnant nurse from north London has recently passed away after falling victim to the #Coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping the world; however it appears that her baby was able to survive and has been deemed to be within perfect health!
Nurse Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong, 28 of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital had officially tested positive for #COVID19 on April 5th reports CNN News. Sources have confirmed that Mary was admitted to the hospital on April 7th after her symptoms began to worsen.
Reports read that within less than a week after being diagnosed with the virus, Mary passed away on April 12th . It has been indicated that her child was delivered by an emergency cesarean section and is currently being monitored closely.
CEO of Bedfordshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has recently come forward to confirm Mary’s passing within a released statement on Wednesday.
“Mary worked here for five years and was a highly valued and loved member of our team, a fantastic nurse and a great example of what we stand for in this Trust,” Carter states.
He continues, “She tested positive for Covid-19 after being tested on 5th of April and was admitted to the hospital on the 7th April. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mary’s family and friends at this sad time. We ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time.”
Within 24 hours after Mary’s death a GoFundMe page had been established to assist her husband and their child at this time. A total of $146,000 was forwarded as oppose to the $2,500 goal.
Mary is remembered as being a loving and caring person who was a blessing to everyone.
