#Cousins,
The quarantine lockdown has deeply affected millions around the world as everyone is ultimately forced to cope with the new and unfamiliar norms of society. Unfortunately the stay at home mandate has caused an apparent spike in suicidal deaths from small children to young adults as many fear the unknown end results of the #Coronavirus pandemic!
California teen Jo’Vianni “ Jo” Smith, 15 body was recently discovered hanging within her home located in Stockton. According to the New York Post the teen hanged herself due to the stress of the state’s stay-at-home- order.
It has been indicated that the tragic incident took place earlier this month. Jo’Vianni’s mother Danielle Hunt has sense come forward to state that her daughter left no suicide note hinting at why she ended her life so abruptly. However she believes her daughter killed herself because of the #COVID19 crisis.
She explains to local news;
“I felt that I was doing all that I could as a parent to leave the communication open.” She goes on to say, “sometimes we may need to stop and worry about the kids that we don’t think we need to worry about.”
Jo’Vianni is remembered as being a good student and amazing athlete with a bright future ahead of her. She was apart of a softball team and played as a catcher and second baseman.
Jo’Vianni’s former coach took to social media to advise parents and caregivers to pay attention to their kids as the Coronavirus pandemic continues within society. “I can’t imagine what Jo was going through to come to this conclusion. Her mom is a single mom with her own catering business, which in these times couldn’t have been going well.”
He concludes “I’m asking for you to keep this family in your prayers, I’m asking you to reach out to others and don’t just assume their doing ok.”
