Hip Hop elites and good friends Jay-Z and Meek Mill have recently paired up alongside their criminal justice reform organization within efforts of assisting numerous correctional facilities with necessary gear!
According to CBS News, Jay Z’s and Meek’s criminal justice organization named Reform recently donated a total of 100,000 surgical masks to numerous correctional facilities within the US. Sources have confirmed that the locations include Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman, Tennessee Department of Corrections and Rikers Island.
Reports read the Reform announced their donations Friday, noting that 40,000 masks would be provided to Tennessee correction facility, 5,000 masks to Parchman, with 50,000 masks going to Rikers and an additional 2,500 to Rikers medical facility.
It has been indicated that the organization wanted to directly assist correctional facilities who have identified as being deeply affected by the #Coronavirus and lacking protective gear.
“It’s a very vulnerable population,” states chief advocacy officer at REFORM Jessica Jackson, “We’re really worried about the number of people coming in and out of the facility, and the fact that the people living there might be sitting ducks during this pandemic.
