A #Brooklyn, #NewYork landlord is currently being praised immensely for his kind gesture of canceling rent for the entire month of April due to the #Coronavirus pandemic!
Mario Salerno, 59 owner of an estimated 80 apartments located in Williamsburg and Greenpoint plastered a sign outside of each apartment building sympathizing with all 200 of his tenants, reports NBC News.
The notice stated, “Due to the recent pandemic of Coronavirus COVID-19 affecting all of us, please note I am waiving rent for the month for April.”
Reports read that Salerno made his decision after he was contacted by numerous tenants who were financially affected by the virus.
“I want everybody to be healthy, that’s the whole thing.”
He continues by saying, “for me, it was more important for people’s health and worrying about who could put food on whose table,” Salerno said. “ I say don’t worry about paying me, worry about your neighbor and worry about your family.”
