A high school Principal is currently in extremely hot water following mortifying and insensitive comments made directly following the recent and tragic death of beloved basketball player #KobeBryant and 8 other lost souls!
Camas High School former Principal Liza Sekora took to her personal social media account on Facebook following the news of the horrific helicopter crash that killed Bryant and 8 other passengers and stated, “Not gonna lie. Seems to me that karma caught up with a rapist today.”
The New York Times reports that Sekora’s post went viral immediately as thousands of social media users voiced their outrage of her demeaning comment. After receiving multiple death threats; a petition for a direct call of action was issued which warranted for the suspension of Sekora from her position as Principal.
It has been indicated that shortly after being placed on administrative leave Sekora came forward Tuesday afternoon to apologize, “I have some personal experience that generated the visceral reaction. This was a situation where I didn’t think before I posted, and I’m terribly regretful about that,” she states.
It wasn’t until Friday that Sekora forwarded a detailed email announcing that she will be resigning effective immediately. She highlights her comments as being, “inappropriate, tasteless and a personal visceral reaction.”
