#Cousins ; it is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the horrific death of #NBA legend #KobeBryant !
It has been indicated that Bryant passed at the young age of 41 due to an apparent helicopter crash alongside 8 other passengers. Amongst those passengers were Bryant’s daughter Gianna Bryant (13), John Altobelli(56), Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester (13), Christina Mauser and the pilot, Ara Zobayan; reports TMZ.
Sources have confirmed that the incident took place Sunday morning around 9AM in Calabasas, Los Angeles. Eyewitnesses state that the helicopter initially began to spin out of control and then spiral down while in the air. The abrupt circular motion continued as smoke and flames covered the helicopter. The passengers were on their way to the Mamba Academy for basketball practice.
Reports read : The pilot eventually headed north along the 118 freeway before turning to the west, and started following above the 101 freeway around Woodland Hills, CA.
At around 9:40 AM they encounter more weather — as in seriously heavy fog — and the chopper turned south. This was critical, because they turned toward a mountainous area. The pilot suddenly and rapidly climbed from about 1200 feet up to 2000 feet.
However, moments later — around 9:45 AM — they flew into a mountain at 1700 feet. Flight tracker data shows they were flying at about 161 knots.
It has been indicated that Kobe had used the personal helicopter for years on a day to day basis to help him beat LA traffic.
Bryant spent the last two decades of his life completely dedicated to the game of basketball and his ever growing love of the game. His daughter Gianna also known as GG attainted the same love of basketball as her dad and had high hopes of playing in the WNBA.
Bryant is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Our hearts goes out to the entire Bryant, Altobeli, Chester and Mauser family at this time..🙏🏿🌹
