Through out Oprah Winfrey’s long standing career she has rightfully secured the crown of not only being one of the most successful media moguls in the world, but also a real life fairy godmother when it comes down to revealing life changing surprises!
According to #YahooNews ; Oprah revealed on Monday that she will be forwarding $13 million dollars to the all men’s historically black college of Morehouse scholarship program. Sources have confirmed that Oprah has officially invested a total of $ 25 million dollars into the college; the largest amount invested in Morehouse history.
Winfrey directly met with all 47 of the scholarship recipients that day and explained the value she sees in their promising futures.
“I understand that African-American men are an endangered species.”
“They are so misunderstood. They are so marginalized. Where and when I can lend support to try to change that image, I do,” she continues. “That is what Morehouse is doing. It is saying ‘This is who we really are.'”
Winfrey was honored by the scholarship recipients with a large bouquet of flowers and a original painting. The media mogul took to Instagram to share, “Spent a day marinating in black excellence with these gorgeous, promising, young men at @morehouse1867,” the caption read.
“They honored me with roses, a song, and a portrait for a scholarship fund I set up 30 years ago, Can’t wait to see what they do with their future.”
