Former 3LW member and Starz Power leading lady #NaturiNaughton addresses the elephant in the room as she reveals that her and her longtime boyfriend have decided to go separate ways.
According to #BET ; Naughton addressed the relationship split from her long time boyfriend and father of her child Ben within an #EssenceMagazine interview. Sources have indicated that Naughton has officially confirmed that she is single and that the dynamic of love within her relationship made an unforeseen change.
“I don’t want to be married if it’s not the right marriage and the right person,” she states. “A lot of people think that marriage is the quintessential success, but it’s not if the marriage is not grounded in the right foundation. I went through a lot of feelings of inadequacy about why did my life not turn out to be the perfect picture story, but that’s just not what was written for me.”
Naughton goes on to say that she has written an entire song that pertains to exactly what caused the couple’s split, called “Stay Too Long”
“The song is literally about my story,” says Naughton. Some of the lyrics goes, “’Three months after the baby was born, your love for me was gone. How could you flip the script on me?… Love makes you foolish and stay way too long.'”
Thought the couple has decided to go their separate ways they are very much on point in being mutually active in their daughter Zuri’s life.
“God gave me a beautiful child, and her father is great and still in her life, and we’re co-parenting,” she states. “That’s a blessing in itself.”
Naughton hasn’t forwarded how recent the breakup was; however there have been some POWERFUL rumors circulating pertaining to her and a former Starz Power cast mate becoming more than just friends. “ Shawn” played by Sinqua Walls was a former love interest of Tasha’s character on Power. The two have been spotted seemingly close but haven’t confirmed anything. We think they’d look bomb together tho!
