10 Year Old Commits Suicide After Peers Forward Note: “ Kill Yourself, You Don’t Belong Here! “

A Texas Mother is utilizing an extremely difficult time in her life to shed light on those in need. Crystal Reed has endured a deep loss this year with the passing of her son Kevin Reese Jr. . Kevin was forced to deal with months of bullying from his classmates at the young age of 10 and sadly died from suicide.

According to #EbonyMagazine , Kevin struggled with fiting In with his peers at Robinson Elementary School. Smith states “I just thought he was handling the situations. They wrote on his tablet to kill yourself, ‘You don’t belong here’” she goes on to say “When it got physical back in November, he came home crying because he didn’t fight back and one of the boys punched him several times coming from recess.” Sources state that when Crystal reported the fight to school officials they responded denied it stating they havie no account of any physical altercations. Smith said  “They told me they never found any bullying going on,” she said. It has been indicated that Reese killed himself exactly 2 months after the fight. His mother states “ He just had enough and he felt that he was backed into a corner.”

Kevin is remembered by his loved ones as a goofy and kind child.  He is the youngest of 26 children within Houston to commit suicide in the past year. Smith hopes her story will help families seek the proper help before it’s too late. Smith states the best advice she can offer is to; “Pay attention to your child, don’t assume that things are handled at the school.”
