After new developments, we’ve reached out to his attorney and requested additional time to interview him.” Sources have indicated that an investigation is still underway. Officials are carefully collecting witness statements, with hopes of revealing the overall truth.
It has been stated that two brothers were brought in for questioning as they were identified by Smollet for the attack. They both stated that Smollet orchestrated the entire thing. Sources have indicated that both men cooperated fully with the investigation, admitted to purchasing the bleach and rope used within the attack. One of the brothers even handed over their phone to officials and showed a call between himself and Smollet the night of the attack.
It has been rumored that Smollet was afraid that his character #JamalLyon was being written off on #FoxEmpire , and that this was an act of sympathy. Fox made an official statement earlier this week indicating that the rumor was false . Smollet’s legal team has also concluded that Jussie is a victim and nothing more.
