Reality TV Star; Kim Kardashian has helped a convicted Grandmother’s dream come true.
Wednesday afternoon; President #DonaldTrump has signed a commutation in favor of Alice Johnson . Former Memphis, Tennessee resident; currently sentenced to life in prison ( with an additional 25 Years ) due to a nonviolent crime of cocaine trafficking and drug conspiracy. Johnson’s conviction is dated all the way back to 1996, over 20 years ago.
Johnson stated: initially became involved in drug trafficking due to significant financial hardship after a string of unfortunate events in her life.” She was terminated from her position at FedEx due to gambling addiction, her son was killed in a motorcycle accident and while she was enduring the emotional pain of a recent divorce.
Johnson & Kim Kardashian-West have been in contact for serveral months, reviewing the details of her case. Last week Mrs. West took to met with #Trump To discuss prison reformation; in efforts of reducing jail population and the commutation of non violent crimes.
“I’d like to tell President Trump that I am so grateful for everything that you’ve done for me and my family,” Alice Johnson, 63, Thursday on “Good Morning America.” “This moment right now is happening because President Trump had mercy on me.”
“I’d like to tell him that, please, please remember us, the others who have been left behind because there are so many like me who need to have an opportunity, the opportunity that I’ve had.”
Johnson states she hasn’t heard back from any White House officials since her release.
