Keyshia Cole is unlocking a new chapter—and she’s doing it on her own terms. The R&B songstress and soul-bearing hitmaker recently sat down with The Breakfast Club to clear the air on everything from love and healing to her high-profile split from Huncho Da Rockstar.

And sis was transparent.

💬 “I’ve Done the Work—Now I’m Protecting My Peace.”

Keyshia opened up about her journey of self-reflection after the breakup, admitting that she had to check herself before pointing fingers.

“When did you start trusting love again, or have you?” Charlamagne Tha God asked midway through their conversation, to which she replied, “Every time [results in] heartbreak.”

The Grammy-nominated singer says that while she once chased the idea of fairy-tale romance, she’s no longer entertaining anything that disrupts her peace.

“I haven’t decided to date again, [but] I take compliments.”

💔 On Her Split from Hunxho: “No..I still got that tattoo here…”

Though she didn’t go into explicit detail, Keyshia confirmed that things between her and Hunxho fizzled due to “a misalignment of priorities.”

“But am I ready to move on?” Keyshia pondered wondered aloud hinting at her previous romance with Hunxho—while revealing that she has not yet removed the rapper’s tattoo on her body. “No. I still got that tattoo here, so I can’t…I don’t know.”

According to Rap Up, Keyshia got Hunxho’s government name, Ibrahim tatted on her breast back in 2024.

“I don’t regret loving people, but I do regret loving them before they showed me they were ready.”

🎶 New Music, New Energy

Keyshia also teased that she’s been in the studio, channeling her healing into new music that speaks to women reclaiming their worth.

“This next project is grown. It’s honest. It’s about learning how to let go without losing yourself.”

And for the record—she’s not entertaining the drama.

Keyshia explained that she is focusing on her career with an upcoming project, her 20th anniversary tour and more big things on the way.
