Abbott Elementary creator and leading lady Quinta Brunson is ready to sign them papers following word that she has officially filed for divorce!
In a petition filed on Wednesday (March 19th ), Quinta listed “irreconcilable differences,” as her reason for divorcing her husband of nearly four years Kevin Jay Anik. Sources state that the date of their separation has been cited as “TBD.”
Court documents confirm that the estranged couple “entered into a postnuptial agreement which governs the disposition of their property.” Quinta has also requested each party remain responsible for their own attorney’s fees.
As her career continues to skyrocket throughout the last few years Quinta has kept the details of her marriage out of the public eye. It wasn’t until 2022 she referred to Kevin as her husband while accepting her first Emmy award, reports PEOPLE.
“In case I am not back up here again, I have to thank my mom, dad, brothers and sisters, my cousins … my wonderful husband because he’s the most supportive man I’ve ever known and my incredible cast and show for helping me to make this show and make the pilot.”
Quinta also mentioned him again in 2023 while accepting a Golden Globe for Best musical or comedy actress award.
“I didn’t prepare anything because I just didn’t think … Oh god. I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my entire family so much. I love my husband. I’m so happy. I love my cast. Oh, I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much.”
