Whew!! Tamera Mowry’s husband Adam Housley has surely stirred the pot on social media after weighing in on the Trump administration’s new proposal to ban SNAP ( Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefit recipients from purchasing junk food!

In a lengthy post to Twitter (X), the former Fox News reporter shared his alleged childhood experience in witnessing SNAP recipients committing fraud, while seemingly agreeing with a new proposal to prohibit certain items with the use of food stamps.

“As a kid who grew up in neighborhood grocery stores since I was 5, I can’t tell you how many times I saw people come in and buy crap food for their kids with food stamps, then open the wallet and use cash for liquor, beer, wine and cigarettes,” wrote Adam.

Then there were those who would repeatedly buy a lemon or lime, get the change, walk out the door throw them away, and do it again. Until they had enough change to buy cigarettes or alcohol. As a kid, it pissed me off because there are some people who could really use the help and then there are these others working the system.

Adam’s comments were made in response to Donald Trump’s appointed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his potential junk food ban reported by the AP News. Kennedy alongside the new Agriculture Secretary, Brooke Rollins are currently seeking to restrict the purchasing of items such as, “soda or processed foods,” with the use of SNAP.

As Adam’s tweet quickly circulated on Twitter, (X) users swiftly questioned the point he was attempting to make while also calling him out for speaking on the lifestyle and struggles of others, even though he can not personally relate.

I thought you grew up in a vineyard,” wrote a user.

According to Atlanta Black Star, Adam, Tamera, his parents, brother, and sister-in-law, are founders and co-owners of the Housley Napa Valley winery.

Adam is a 6th generation from the Bay Area and was born and raised in wine country, growing up with a vineyard in his front yard,” reads an excerpt from the Housley Napa Valley website.

What exactly do you mean by grew up in neighborhood grocery store it’s since you were 5?” asked another social media user.

In response, Adam explained that his family used all the money they had to open a small grocery store when he was a kid. “My parents used every dime they had to open a small neighborhood grocery store.”

Adam continued, “My brother and I basically lived in the backroom and as a family we worked our butts off. I got baseball cards as pay for picking up cigarette butts in the planters. lol. Worked those stores until I left for TV. Brother still runs both of em.

Tension continued to grow regarding Adam’s comments ultimately triggering Tamera’s name to trend online as social media users questioned if the two share the same thought process and views.

I find it hard to believe that you’re married to someone who harbors these kinds of views and you don;t agree and or know of them beforehand,” wrote a Twitter (X) user.

Tamera hasn’t publicly addressed the current controversy boiling over online at this time, however she has instead shared a family photo of her and Adam alongside their two children with a caption that reads, “Love my family so much. Lord, I thank you.
