As Hurricane Milton begins to pick up in the Tampa area of Florida residents have called out government officials for failing to provide efficient assistance!
During a recent airing of ‘The Breakfast Club’ morning show, a male caller stated that residents are being denied assistance as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA ) applications have been denied.
While in conversation with co-host Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Loren Lorosa, he explained that the majority of residents can not afford to evacuate their area and that despite the severity of the storm, officials are basically leaving residents to fend for themselves.
Florida residents are also currently recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene which has been recognized as the deadliest hurricane to hit United States since Katrina resulting in 215 fatalities.
While preparing for Hurricane Milton, multiple rumors regarding FEMA funding have begun to circulate online as it is believed the agency has run out of money.
According to reports from ABC News, FEMA utilizes an operating budget and disaster relief fund that is replenished each year by Congress.
Sources state that FEMA’s disaster relief fund received $20 billion in September and that the same amount was received the previous year. Reports read that $8 billion is automatically set aside for recovery from previous storms and mitigation projects.
“We have the resources that we need to handle Helene and Milton at the same time; no one needs to be concerned about FEMA losing the resources,” Keith Turi, FEMA’s acting associate administrator for response and recovery.
As for Hurricane Helene aide, Keith has confirmed that funding will not be effected by the predicted impact of Milton.
“We have the resources that we need to handle Helene and Milton at the same time; no one needs to be concerned about FEMA losing the resources,” Keith Turi, FEMA’s acting associate administrator for response and recovery,
Noir Nation, we are sending endless love and infinite prayers to all Florida residents.
