Cousins, the ongoing divorce battle between Simon Guobadia and Porsha Williams has taken another ugly turn as he’s currently accusing the reality television star of strategically planning to divorce him in efforts of lining her pockets!
According to In Touch, Simon alongside his legal team is actively working to have the court toss out the former couple’s prenup. It has been stated that a prenuptial agreement was signed less than two weeks before they were officially married.
Obtained court documents detail that the prenup consisted of Porsha agreeing to quit her job as a host of Dish Nation as well as exiting from ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ as a longtime cast member and opting to be a stay-at-home wife in September 2021.
“After [Porsha] quit her jobs, the parties began discussing a prenuptial agreement in December 2021. During the negotiation phase and through the execution of the prenuptial agreement, the Wife was not working on The Real Housewives of Atlanta nor with Dish Nation. [Porsha] quit her jobs to be a stay-at-home wife,” says Simon’s attorney.
Sources state that since Porsha agreed to move on from both of her roles as a host and cast member which were identified as her main sources of income, Simon issued her a five-figure monthly allowance. However, despite her 2021 exit, Porsha announced at the top of 2024 that she would be returning to RHOA as a cast member for the upcoming season.
She then filed for divorce in a matter of days following the announcement.
Simon has claimed that Porsha never directly disclosed to him that she had plans to return to the show after they signed the prenup. His attorney argues,“[Porsha] failed to disclose that she would return to her employment on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Instead of disclosing this material fact, [Porsha] made it very clear to [Simon] (and the public) that she was leaving the television show and not returning.”
“[Simon] relied on [Porsha’s] representations—or misrepresentations—made to him during their engagement, the negotiation phase, and at the time the parties signed the prenuptial agreement. But for [Porsha’s] misrepresentations to [Simon], [Simon] would not have signed off on the prenuptial agreement terms.”
The 60-year-old has accused Porsha of taking premeditated strides towards divorcing him, “just after 453 days of marriage to intentionally trigger the provisions of the prenuptial agreement, for her personal financial gain.”
The former couple is also battling over the usage of their multi-million dollar home. Legal documents obtained by the outlet disclose that Porsha has been granted temporary sole use of their seven million dollar Georgia-based mansion, as she allegedly claims that their prenup included a clause that allows her exclusive usage.
Simon is said to have purchased the home in November 2021 prior to them tying the knot.
“It is wholly unfair and shocking to the conscience for [Porsha] to be able to take [Simon’s] $7,000,000 pre-marital home, collect a substantial amount of the home equity, and receive an exorbitant financial pay out from [Simon] under the terms of the prenuptial agreement, after [Porsha] entered into the marriage under fraudulent pretenses and failed to disclose and/or misrepresented material facts,” says Simon’s lawyer.”
