According to reports from TMZ, a family member informed them that Nashawn passed away on Sunday, September 24th in his New Jersey home. Though the cause of his death hasn’t been revealed at this time, his family shares that he died in his sleep.
Nashawn is best known for his role as Lotto in the early 2000s film #8Mile, which was loosely based off of the life and times of rapper #Eminem. Together he and Em share a legendary scene as they exchange freestyle bars within a rap battle.
Prior to his big-screen fame, Nashawn is said to have performed under the stage name of OX. He was featured on the soundtrack for the movie ‘The Wash’ starring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
