Cousins! A simple round of a beloved childhood game turned tragic recently after a Louisiana homeowner shot a teenage girl as she played hide and seek on his property!
According to reports from The Hill 58 year old David Doyle told officials that at the time of the incident he had grabbed for his firearm after seeing shadows lurking outside of his home located in Starks, Louisiana. He claims that he decided to shoot after seeing people running away from his property. David claims to have shot a young 14 year old girl in the back of her head unknowingly.
Local police officials report that the teen alongside several other children from the area had been playing hide and seek on David’s property at the time of the ordeal.

The young girl endured a single gunshot wound to her head and was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries reads a statement from Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
David has been charged with aggravated battery, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal discharge of a firearm. He has been booked at the Calcasieu Correctional Center with indication that his bail is currently pending.
This incident is amongst a string of occurrences taking place this year where a homeowner has tragically shot a young child for entering their property. Last month a Florida male shot a 6 year old girl alongside her father after a stray basketball rolled into his backyard.
In Kansas City, Missouri 16 year old Ralph Yarl was shot by a white male homeowner for ringing the wrong bell as he attempted to pick up his siblings one night.
