Cousins! Chris Rock has officially entered the group chat nearly a year later as he speak out upon the slap heard across the globe!

Within his newly released Netflix special, “ Selective Outrage,” the comedian address the 2022 controversial incident between him Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. While providing a proposed background story of a 2016 incident that apparently occurred between the three, Chris fumbled a joke where he mixed up Will’s dated film ‘Concussion’ verses his newly released project ‘Emancipation’.

“Years ago, his wife said I should quit the Oscars; I shouldn’t host ’cause her man didn’t get nominated for ‘Emancipation,’ the biggest piece of s–t ever!” said Chris during the global live-streaming event. “No, not ‘Emancipation,’ I f–ked up the joke.”

He then proceeded in properly delivering the joke, “She started this s–t. She said that me, a f–king grown-ass man, should quit his job because, ‘My husband didn’t get nominated for ‘Concussion.””

Apparently the Brooklyn, New York native was referring to the 2015 released sports drama film “Concussion,” surrounding the life and times of neuropathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu, noted as the first person to discover Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) ; a neurodegenerative disease directly linked to repeatedly encountered trauma to the head. Will landed the lead role within the film.

In 2016 the Smiths decided to boycott the Oscars with the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite, as they claimed the ceremony lacked years of diversity after Will failed to secure a nomination.

Thankfully for Chris producers moved forward and edited out the joke he clearly fumbled says a source to the Hollywood Reporter. It has been indicated that he is aware of the edit and worked closely for the final cut.

As we previously reported Chris was slapped by Will within the 2022 Oscar’s ceremony after he delivered a joke about Jada where he referred to her as G.I Jane. The joke was deemed insensitive as Jada has revealed in recent years that she suffers from Alopecia.
