Basketball superstar Lebron James has ultimately had the last laugh as his company trademarked a statement directed negatively at him!
Uninterrupted, the company founded by Lebron— recently filed to trademark the phrase “Shut Up and Dribble.”
According to USA Today, the trademark will go towards items such as “downloadable virtual goods, namely, computer programs featuring footwear, clothing, headwear, eyewear, bags, sports bags, backpacks, sports equipment, art, toys, and accessories for use online and in online virtual worlds.”
Also, entertainment services such as “video, social media posts, music, and games are also part of the filing.”
Cousins, if you don’t recall, the statement went viral when Fox News host Laura Ingraham responded to James after the athlete spoke on the political climate in 2018 when his Los Angeles residence was “vandalized when it was spray-painted with a racial slur.”
At the time, this is what James said in a statement about then-President Donald Trump at the time:
“The climate is hot. The number-one job in America, the appointed person is someone who doesn’t understand the people. And really don’t give a (expletive) about the people.”
The news anchor caught wind of James’ remarks and quickly talked about it on her show. According to Ingraham, the ball player is “someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball.”
“Keep the political comments to yourselves. Shut up and dribble,” she said.
