Forever President Barack Obama denounced the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in a statement and insisted people get out to vote before November 8th!
Last Friday, the former president released a Twitter statement “the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues — attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans,”
“For more than a month, we’ve known this day was coming,” Obama continued, “but that doesn’t make it any less devastating.”

Last month, the former president released a joint statement with his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama expressing the significance of Roe v. Wade. Obama stated that Roe “recognized is that the freedom enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution requires all of us to enjoy a sphere of our lives that isn’t subject to meddling from the state — a sphere that includes personal decisions involving who we sleep with, who we marry, whether or not to use contraception, and whether or not to bear children.”

Obama also mentioned that bills have already been passed restricting women’s choice nationwide. The former president urges people who are against the Supreme Court decision to support Planned Parenthood, the United States of Women, and many other groups who have been “sounding the alarm on this issue for years–and will continue to be on the front lines of this fight.’
