Just in case you’re wondering why eggplants have been making headlines lately, there is said to be a 50-year-old Indonesian man who recently discovered he has a rare diagnosis to his penis called “eggplant deformity”

According to the New York Post the unidentified man, heard a “crack” during sexual intercourse with his wife. He was then admitted to the hospital with a case of “severe penile fracture” . It has been stated that his genitalia was swollen for four hours.

He stated that when “having intercourse with his wife when he felt a ‘crack’ during that time he lost his erection and suffered urethral bleeding and an inability to ejaculate.

The was examined at the hospital where they revealed that his penis turned purple and was dislocated to the right within the shape of a question mark. Reports mentioned that there was a blood clot that went from the tip of his penis to the scrotum where he subsequently ruptured his urethra, which helps with urine flow.

The man was diagnosed with “Eggplant Deformity” which is the medical term used when the penis “buckles” due to blunt trauma during intercourse. It has been stated that this happens when the male slips from the vagina during intercourse. 

There is an actual X-ray of the man and his injury provided by the International Journal of Surgery. If this deformity is left untreated, it can lead to further conditions such as permanent disfigurement and impotence.

He was treated by providers, cutting open the penis and fixing the fracture, opening the urethra, and repairing his  penis tissue.Then after, they stitched his penis and tested the penis with an “artificial erection” to see if the man was able to.

The Sun reports, five days after surgery, the man was discharged from the hospital with a catheter that he had to use for 21 days while the urethra healed. Currently, the man is now healed and has intercourse with his wife without complications.
