Cousins!
In today’s news of things we can’t make up, a Florida mother has been arrested after being pulled over for speeding approximately 40 miles over the speed limit while her underage children were in the vehicle sleeping without any restraint!
According to Fox news, on Tuesday April 26th around 12AM two deputies stopped Carolyn Poitier for speeding 91 miles per hour in a 50 miles per hour zone, while driving in Volusia County.
Officials state that Carolyn’s two children ages 2 and 3, were asleep without car seats and seat belts while sleeping in the front and back passenger seats.
Carolyn forwarded the explanation that she had left each child’s car seat in two different vehicles.
According to the deputies reports she said she was driving from Leesburg to Daytona Beach and that she didn’t want to strap her children in because they were asleep.
It has been stated that the deputies explained to Carolyn that if they didn’t pull her over they could’ve died if she had crashed due to the speed she was driving. However she responded in saying she didn’t plan on crashing.
It has been stated that while the deputies were talking with Carolyn another adult arrived on the scene with car seats to take both toddlers home.
Carolyn was charged with child neglect and possession of a Schedule IV substance for Tramadol. She was then taken to Volusia County Branch Jail and held on $5,000 bond.
