Jennifer Hudson’s Ex Fiance David Otunga Reportedly Selling Her Engagement Ring For $45,000!

Jennifer Hudson’s former fiancé David Otunga is reportedly swapping her wedding ring for cash with the hefty price tag of $45,000!

According to ET, the former reality star and professional wrestler has listed the signature engagement ring on the IDoNowIDont.com website which is recognized for reselling jewelry.


Co-founder of the site Mara Opperman has since then confirmed the sale to the outlet in saying, “IDoNowIDont.com is selling Jennifer Hudson’s former engagement ring.”

She continues, “Neil Lane was commissioned to design this one-of-a-kind bauble specifically for Hudson. The round brilliant beauty weighs almost 5 carats and is currently listed at $45,000.”

On the IDoNowIDont website the ring is listed as a VIP sale. The description explains that Neil Lane assisted with the design of the personalized ring. The site details that the engagement ring is one of the most popular “celebrity engagement rings” to date.


It has been noted that Jennifer wore the ring during a monumental moment of her career as she accepted a Grammy Award win presented by Whitney Houston and during a performance in 2009.

Sources confirm that Jennifer and David had gotten engaged in 2008, however they unfortunately ended their relationship in 2017 after 10 years of dating. Together they share one child. It has been stated that they had been undergoing separation for months before going public with news of their split.

The singer had requested and received a protective order against shortly against her ex fiancé.

Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son,” the rep added. “Please respect her privacy at this time.”

In response to the protective order a representative for David said, “Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him,” the statement read. “Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child.”

It has been stated that the ring is GIA Certified and comes with official certification documents signed by Neil Lane. According to the IDoNowIDont website Otunga plans to donate proceeds from the ring to a series of charitable organizations.
