The upcoming comedy film “Assisted Living” has officially been shelved following reports that Cardi B walked away from the staring role just one week before production was scheduled to begin!

According to Deadline, the production company of Paramount Players decided to hit pause on the project until further notice.

The film was going to serve as the Bronx, New York native’s very first staring role in a movie. Sources confirm that Cardi reportedly pulled out due to ‘being overextended.’

Cardi was to portray the role of a small-time crook named Amber that ends up on the run after she finds herself wrongfully accused of a crime. After running out of options and needing somewhere to go, Amber decides to live at her estranged grandmother’s nursing home and dress up as an elderly woman.

Hopefully we’ll get the film in the future because we definitely like the storyline and believe Cardi would do great things on the big screen! We’ll keep you all posted.
