The family of late rapper Drakeo The Ruler has come forward to reveal that they are unable to cover the of his funeral arrangements, resulting in his mom requesting a court order to access his estate!
Darrylene Corniel says the ceremony should cost roughly around $52,000 dollars and that she’d like to cover it with Drakeo’s estate but in order to do that she needs approval from the court, reports TMZ.
Sources confirm that the rapper’s mom has forwarded official documents indicating that his assets round up to around $2 million dollars.
She’s requesting to only be allowed funding for his funeral arrangements as she wants to lay her son to rest with dignity, style and grace.
Darrylene says she’s in dyer need of the funding in order to solidify a funeral date, because due to an increase in COVID-19 related deaths it is difficult to reserve a specific slot.
According to Newsweek, Darrylene is also planning to file an official lawsuit. She says there was an insufficient level of security at the event organized by Live Nation.
“We plan to sue. This happened backstage at an event. Someone has to be held accountable. They let all these people in, and you’re not supposed to have all these people backstage. And your security is supposed to be in place. The whole program should have been orchestrated a lot better than what it was.”
