Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash is ready to make amends with Jay-Z following their decades worth of beef due to unsorted differences!
The multi-hyphenated business man and music mogul extend an olive branch within recognition during his Rock and Roll Hall induction speech over the weekend.
“Shout out to Dame,” said Jay-Z “I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments. And I appreciate you and I thank you for that.” He also thanked additional Roc-A-Fella Kareem “Biggs” Burke, “I appreciate you guys. Thank you for our journey. Thank you. Thank you for your contribution to this journey.”
Though the two have never fully discussed publicly what the real cause of their separation was, Dame has come forward in response with appreciation.
“It was beautiful,” Dame told Page Six. He also admitted that he was surprised that Jay mentioned him. “I’m glad he said it for the culture. We need to squash everything. So hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch], I’ll spin one back.”
He continues, “I have no beef with [him] if [he has] no beef with me. “Let’s get the lawyers out of it then. Let’s talk like men, but I definitely appreciate it.”
According to the outlet, the two have been in and out of court with a series of lawsuits upon claims that Dame attempt to sell Rock-A-Fella’s first release — Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt — as an NFT. Dash had taken to social media to call Jay both a a “liar” and a “bully”
